“「12」 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.
「13」 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.
「14」 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
「15」 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.
「16」 Rejoice always,
「17」 pray continually,
「18」 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
「19」 Do not quench the Spirit.
「20」 Do not treat prophecies with contempt
「21」 but test them all; hold on to what is good,
「22」 reject every kind of evil.
「23」 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
「24」 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
「25」 Brothers and sisters, pray for us.

「27」 I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters.

“「12」 And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience.
「13」 Overwhelm them with appreciation and love! Get along among yourselves, each of you doing your part.
「14」 Our counsel is that you warn the freeloaders to get a move on. Gently encourage the stragglers, and reach out for the exhausted, pulling them to their feet. Be patient with each person, attentive to individual needs.
「15」 And be careful that when you get on each other's nerves you don't snap at each other. Look for the best in each other, and always do your best to bring it out.
「16」 Be cheerful no matter what;
「17」 pray all the time;
「18」 thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.
「19」 Don't suppress the Spirit,
「20」 and don't stifle those who have a word from the Master.
「21」 On the other hand, don't be gullible. Check out everything, and keep only what's good.
「22」 Throw out anything tainted with evil.
「23」 May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together--spirit, soul, and body--and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ.
「24」 The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he'll do it!
「25」 Friends, keep up your prayers for us.
「26」 Greet all the Christians there with a holy embrace.
「27」 And make sure this letter gets read to all the brothers and sisters. Don't leave anyone out.

거룩이란 하나님의 관점을 향한 집중을 의미합니다. (Sanctification means to be intensely focused on God’s point of view.) 신자의 영혼육이 서로 연결된 가운데 오직 하나님의 목적만을 위해 사용되는 것입니다.
그러므로 거룩을 위해 치러야 할 대가는 이 땅에서의 관심을 지극히 줄이고 하나님을 향한 관심을 무한히 넓히는 것입니다. 당신은 하나님께서 당신을 따로 구별하신 목적을 당신의 삶에서 이루고자 하실 때를 준비하고 있어야 합니다.
예수님의 거룩
(요 17:19, 새번역) “그리고 내가 그들을 위하여 나를 거룩하게 하는 것은, 그들도 진리로 거룩하게 하려는 것입니다."”

신자는 하나님의 관점에서 거룩이 무엇인지를 알아야 합니다. 거룩이란 신자의 거룩을 위해 자신을 거룩하게 하신 예수 그리스도의 거룩를 인정하고, 예수 그리스도와 하나가 됨으로 예수를 다스렸던 성향이 신자를 다스리게 하는 것입니다. (Sanctification means being made one with Jesus so that the nature that controlled Him will control us.)
예수님은 자신이 하나님과 하나인 것처럼 신자가 주님과 하나가 되기를 기도하셨습니다. 성령은 신자의 삶에 이 예수님의 기도가 응답되도록 일하십니다.
성령의 역사에서 가장 뚜렸하고 유일한 특징은 신자를 예수 그리스도와 닮게 만들면서 예수님과 관계없는 모든 것으로 부터 자유하게 하신다는 점입니다.
성령께서 나 자신안에서 역사하시도록 나 자신을 따로 구별하고, 거룩한 삶을 위해 내려놓아야 할 것을 내려놓고 대가를 치를 준비가 되어 있습니까?
