“「31」 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?「32」 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all - how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
「33」 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.
「34」 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died - more than that, who was raised to life - is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
「35」 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
「36」 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”* / *Psalm 44:22
「37」 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
「38」 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,* neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, / *Or nor heavenly rulers
「39」 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

「32」 If God didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn't gladly and freely do for us?
「33」 And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God's chosen?
「34」 Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us--who was raised to life for us!--is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us.
「35」 Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ's love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture：
「36」 They kill us in cold blood because they hate you. We're sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one.
「37」 None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us.
「38」 I'm absolutely convinced that nothing--nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow,
「39」 high or low, thinkable or unthinkable--absolutely nothing can get between us and God's love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.”

「33」 하나님께서 택하신 사람들을, 누가 감히 고발하겠습니까? 의롭다 하시는 분이 하나님이신데,
「34」 누가 감히 그들을 정죄하겠습니까? 그리스도 예수는 죽으셨지만 오히려 살아나셔서 하나님의 오른쪽에 계시며, 우리를 위하여 대신 간구하여 주십니다.
「35」 누가 우리를 그리스도의 사랑에서 끊을 수 있겠습니까? 환난입니까, 곤고입니까, 박해입니까, 굶주림입니까, 헐벗음입니까, 위협입니까, 또는 칼입니까?
「36」 성경에 기록한 바 "우리는 종일 주님을 위하여 죽임을 당합니다. 우리는 도살당할 양과 같이 여김을 받았습니다" 한 것과 같습니다.
「37」 그러나 우리는 이 모든 일에서 우리를 사랑하여 주신 그분을 힘입어서, 이기고도 남습니다.
「38」 나는 확신합니다. 죽음도, 삶도, 천사들도, 권세자들도, 현재 일도, 장래 일도, 능력도,

단지 하나님의 무한한 사랑때문에
[반추/rumination : "그 어느 것도 신자와 하나님의 사랑 사이에 균열을 만들 수 없습니다.”
바울은 하나님의 사랑과 신자 사이에 균열을 만들고 분리시키는 것들을 나열하고 있습니다. 그러나 그 어느 것도 신자와 하나님의 사랑 사이에 균열을 만들 수 없다는 것입니다.
그리스도인의 믿음의 밑바닥에는 갈보리 십자가 상에서 보여주신 무한한 하나님의 은혜와 사랑이 있습니다. 우리가 그 사랑을 받을 만한 자격이 있거나 어떤 존재가 되었기 때문에 하나님의 사랑을 받은 것은 아닙니다.
단지 하나님의 무한한 은혜 때문에 사랑을 받습니다. 바울은 이 사랑이 바로 신자가 모든 것에서 승리하는 원인이요 신자를 영원한 승리자로 만드는 열쇠라고 말합니다. 만일 이 사랑이 없었다면 신자는 자신들을 집어삼키는 상황들 가운데서 결코 신앙의 기쁨을 누릴 수 없었을 것입니다.
쇠하지 않는 광채
평범하게 수영을 즐기는 사람들을 괴롭히는 파도가 파도타기를 하는 사람들에게는 말할 수 없는 기쁨을 줍니다. 우리의 환경에 환난, 고난, 압박은 신자가 싸워야 하는 것들이 아니라 신자에게 엄청난 기쁨을 주는 요소입니다. 신자는 주님과 함께 그 환난을 통과하여 승리하는 삶을 살게 됩니다. 신자는 환난 때문에 주님의 기쁨을 이해합니다. “나는 모든 연약함 가운데 기뻐하노라”라고 바울은 고백합니다. (고후 7:14)
쇠하지 않는 광채는 잠깐 있다 사라지는 유한한 것으로부터 나올 수 없습니다. 오직 변함없는 영원한 하나님의 사랑에서 나옵니다. 인생의 그 어떠한 경험도, 무섭든 단조롭든 주 예수 그리스도안에 있는 하나님의 사랑을 무기력하게 만들 수 없습니다.
Undaunted radiance is not built on anything passing, but on the love of God that nothing can alter. The experiences of life, terrible or monotonous, are impotent to touch the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
