“「9」 So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
「10」 The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”
「11」 And the Lord said to Samuel: “See, I am about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears about it tingle.
「12」 At that time I will carry out against Eli everything I spoke against his family - from beginning to end.

「11」 GOD said to Samuel, "Listen carefully. I'm getting ready to do something in Israel that is going to shake everyone up and get their attention.

「13」 I'm letting him know that the time's up. I'm bringing judgment on his family for good. He knew what was going on, that his sons were desecrating God's name and God's place, and he did nothing to stop them.

신자의 인생을 만지시는 분은 말씀하시는 하나님 입니다.
하나님의 주권적인 손길이 없다면 신자의 삶에 영향을 미치는 것은 아무것도 없습니다. 어떤 상황이 발생할 때, 그것을 우연으로 봅니까? 아니면 그 상황에서 일하시는 하나님의 손길을 분별합니까?
주님 말씀하소서!
“주님 말씀하소서”라고 말하는 습관을 가지십시오. 그러면 인생은 하나님과의 사랑의 연주곡이 될 것입니다.
- “주님, 말씀하십시오. 주님의 종이 듣고 있습니다” (Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.) 주님을 내 방식대로 섬기겠다고 할 때, 주님을 향한 신자의 무지가 드러날 뿐입니다.
어려운 일이 닥칠 때마다 주의 음성을 듣는 시간을 만드십시오. 징계는 단순히 훈련의 수단이 아니라 "주님, 말씀하세요"라고 말할 수 있는 경지에 이르게 하기 위한 것입니다. Chastening is more than a means of discipline— it is meant to bring me to the point of saying, “Speak, Lord.”
순종의 딜레마
하나님이 내게 들려주신 것을 신자 자신의 ‘엘리 제사장’에게 말해야 합니까?
바로 여기서 순종의 딜레마에 빠집니다.우리는 자신에게 가장 가까운 ‘엘리 제사장’의 마음을 상하지 않게 하려고 스스로 해결해 보려고 하다가 하나님께 불순종합니다.
하나님께서는 사무엘에게 엘리의 조언을 들으라고 하지 않으셨습니다. 그러므로 사무엘은 그 문제를 스스로 결정해야 했습니다.
당신을 향한 하나님의 부르심은 어쩌면 당신의 ‘엘리 제사장’에게 아픔을 줄지도 모릅니다. 그러나 다른 사람이 고통을 겪지 않게 하려다가 당신과 하나님 사이에 방해물을 놓을 수도 있습니다.
