1. 기도는 예수와 함께 우리 아버지께 가까이 있는 것이다.

예수님께서 가르치신 기도의 첫 고백은 "하늘에 계신 우리 아버지여" 입니다.

신앙의 성숙은 기도의 성숙과 함께 합니다. 신자가 예수가 있는 곳으로 초대받아 예수처럼 하나님 아버지께 말하는 것이 기도입니다. 신자는 예수가 있는 곳에서 예수의 무리들과 함께 "우리 아버지"를 고백합니다.

그리하여 신자는 삶 전체를 통하여 '아버지'라고 고백하며 기도하게 됩니다.

기도가 성장한다는 것은 예수님처럼 "내 삶 전체가 '우리 아버지'라고 말할 수 있을 때까지 하나님의 뜻에 점점 더 가까워지는 것"입니다.

이를 실현하기 위해 여러분의 삶에서 어떤 부분을 더 노력해야 한다고 생각하시나요?

2. 기도는 거룩하신 하나님 아버지의 뜻이 이땅에 나타나는 기적을 신자가 행하게 한다.

예수님의 기도는 "하늘에 계신 우리 아버지,아버지의 이름을 거룩하게 하시며 아버지의 나라가 오게 하시며,아버지의 뜻이 하늘에서와 같이 땅에서도 이루어지게 하소서."로 이어집니다.

신자가 이렇게 기도하여 하나님 아버지께 가까이 있을 때, 하나님의 영광이 신자에게 열리게 됩니다. 그리하여 하나님의 권세를 나누어 받는다면 신자는 나가서 기적을 행할 수 있습니다. 그레고리는 "여러분의 이웃을 용서하고 재산을 가난한 사람들에게 나누어 주는 것 같은 기적 말입니다. 이런 일을 행하는 것 자체가 하나님의 권세가 역사하는 방식이기 때문입니다. 그리고 우리에게 하나님의 권세가 부어질 때, 우리의 기도는 자연스럽게 그런 일을 행하는 쪽으로 향하게 됩니다."라고 강조합니다. 하나님 아버지께 가까이 나아가 기도하는 신자되어 자신의 삶의 자리에서 용서와 나눔의 기적을 만들어 나가시길 바랍니다.

3. 기도는 화해를 이루는 삶을 신자가 살도록 한다.

예수님께서 가르쳐주신 기도는 "우리가 우리에게 잘못한 사람을 용서하여 준 것같이,우리 죄를 용서하여 주시고"로 이어집니다.

이 기도는 문자적 의미로 더 정확히 말하면 “우리가 우리에게 죄 지은 자를 <이미> 사하여 준 것 같이”라는 뜻이라고 그레고리는 강조합니다. 부모는 자녀를 양육할 때, 먼저 자녀에게 본을 보이고, 자녀 스스로 행할 기회를 주고, 자녀가 행하는 모습을 보여달라고 합니다. 이처럼, 하나님 아버지도 우리에게 용서를 보여주셨고, 우리가 용서할 기회를 주시고, 용서하는 그 모습을 보여달라고 하십니다. 이러한 그레고리의 해석은 매우 깊습니다.

["Prayer Heals Relationships"]

1. Prayer is about being close to our Father with Jesus.

The first confession of prayer taught by Jesus is "Our Father, who art in heaven".

Maturity in faith goes hand in hand with maturity in prayer. Prayer is when the believer is invited to be where Jesus is and speaks to God the Father as Jesus did. Where Jesus is, the believer confesses "Our Father" with Jesus' crowd.

And so the believer prays throughout his or her life, confessing, "Father.

[Reflection question] Growing in prayer is about getting closer and closer to God's will until, like Jesus, we can say, "My whole life is saying, 'Our Father'". What areas of your life do you think you need to work on to make this happen?

2. Prayer enables the believer to perform miracles that manifest the will of a holy Heavenly Father on earth.

Jesus' prayer begins, "Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

When a believer draws close to God the Father in prayer like this, the glory of God is opened to the believer, and the sharing of God's authority enables the believer to go out and perform miracles. "Miracles like forgiving your neighbor and giving away your possessions to the poor," Gregory emphasizes, "because doing these things is how God's authority works, and when God's authority is poured out on us, our prayers are naturally directed toward doing those things. May you draw near to your Heavenly Father and become a prayerful believer, creating miracles of forgiveness and sharing in your own life.

3. Prayer enables believers to live a life of reconciliation.

The prayer Jesus taught leads with "Forgive us our trespasses, just as we have forgiven those who trespass against us."

Gregory emphasizes that this prayer is more literal, meaning, "just as we <have> forgiven those who have sinned against us." When parents raise their children, they first set an example for them, give them the opportunity to do it themselves, and then ask them to show them how to do it. In the same way, our Heavenly Father shows us forgiveness, gives us the opportunity to forgive, and asks us to show him how to forgive. Gregory's interpretation of this is profound.

The believer calls God Father, and within that intimate relationship, he or she can say, "Forgive me. In Gregory's words, "this is the hardest and most important thing in prayer." That's why the prayer of forgiveness is a miracle, a believer's freedom, and a believer's privilege.

[Reflection question] Think about the important relationships that make up your life. Think also about the relationships between people and groups you know in the larger world. Are there any that need healing, and if so, how might your prayer help in that healing process?

(마 18:21-35) “「21」 그 때에 베드로가 예수께 다가와서 말하였다. "주님, 내 신도가 나에게 자꾸 죄를 지으면, 내가 몇 번이나 용서하여 주어야 합니까? 일곱 번까지 하여야 합니까?"
「22」 예수께서 대답하셨다. "일곱 번만이 아니라, 일흔일곱 번까지라도 하여야 한다.
「23」 그러므로, 하늘 나라는 마치 자기 종들과 셈을 가리려고 하는 어떤 왕과 같다. 「24」 왕이 셈을 가리기 시작하니, 15년 품삯의 만배를 빚진 종 하나가 왕 앞에 끌려왔다. 「25」 그런데 그는 빚을 갚을 돈이 없으므로, 주인은 그 종에게, 자신과 그 아내와 자녀들과 그 밖에 그가 가진 것을 모두 팔아서 갚으라고 명령하였다. 「26」 그랬더니 종이 그 앞에 무릎을 꿇고, '참아 주십시오. 다 갚겠습니다' 하고 애원하였다. 「27」 주인은 그 종을 가엾게 여겨서, 그를 놓아주고, 빚을 없애 주었다.
「28」 그러나 그 종은 나가서, 자기에게 100일치 품삯을 빚진 동료 하나를 만나자, 붙들어서 멱살을 잡고 말하기를 '내게 빚진 것을 갚아라' 하였다. 「29」 그 동료는 엎드려 간청하였다. '참아 주게. 내가 갚겠네.' 「30」 그러나 그는 들어주려 하지 않고, 가서 그 동료를 감옥에 집어넣고, 빚진 돈을 갚을 때까지 갇혀 있게 하였다.

"23" Therefore, the kingdom of the heavens is like a certain king who is trying to separate Shem from his servants. "24" When the king had begun to separate them, a servant was brought before him who owed him ten thousand times fifteen years' wages. "25" But he had no money to pay the debt, so the master ordered the servant to sell himself, his wife, his children, and everything else he had to pay it. "26 Then the servant knelt down before him and said, "Please be patient. I will pay it all back," he begged. "27" The master took pity on the servant, let him go, and canceled his debt.
"28" But when the servant went out and met a fellow who owed him a hundred days' wages, he grabbed him by the throat and said, "Pay me back what you owe me. "29" The fellow fell down and begged, "Forbear. I will repay you.' "30" But he would not listen, and he went and threw him into prison, where he remained until he had paid what he owed.
"31" When the other servants saw this, they were very offended, and they went and told their master what had happened. "32" Then the master called the servant in and said to him, "You wicked servant, you have done this to yourself. "You wicked servant, because you begged, I have canceled your debt. "33" Just as I had pity on you, shouldn't you have had pity on your fellow man? "34" His master was angry, so he handed him over to the prison officials and had him locked up until he paid what he owed.
"35 "If you do not each forgive your brother or sister from the bottom of your heart, my heavenly Father will do the same to you.""

예수가 있는 곳에 있게 하소서
예수가 있는 곳에 함께 있는 “공동체”를 보게 하소서, 예수의 동료들을 보게 하소서
예수의 말을 신자도 말하게 하소서
예수가 나의 기도를 가지고 기도할 때, 하나님의 영원한 사랑을 들여다보며 기도함을 믿게 하소서
예수님 처럼, 기도를 통하여 하나님께, 아빠 가까이 있게 하소서
사랑의 하나님의 품어주심을 느끼고 알게 하소서
나의 기도에, 신음에 귀기울여 주심을 알게 하소서. 나의 신음을 들어주심을 감사합니다.
삶 전체를 통하여 ‘아버지 하나님’라고 고백하며 기도하게 하소서

Let us be where Jesus is
Let us see the "community" together where Jesus is, the companions of Jesus.
Let the words of Jesus be spoken by the believer
Believe that when Jesus prays with my prayers, I am praying into God's eternal love.
Keep me close to God, to my Father, through prayer, just as Jesus did.
Let me feel and know His embrace
Let me know that you listen to my prayers, to my groans. Thank you for hearing my groans.
Let me pray throughout my life, confessing, "Abba, Father.

2-1. 기도를 할 때, 하나님 아버지께 가까이 있을 때, 하나님의 영광이 신자에게 열리게 된다. 그리하여, 기도는 우리를 천국으로 인도하고, 그리스도안에서 그리스도 안에서 하나님 아버지를 직접 뵙게 해주며, 천사들보다 더 뛰어나게 해줍니다
2-1. When we pray, when we are close to our Heavenly Father, the glory of God is opened to the believer. Thus, prayer leads us to heaven, enables us to see God the Father in Christ face to face, and makes us more excellent than the angels

2-1. 영광이 열리고, 이제 권능(power)가 열려 신자는 기적을 만들게 된다.

우리는 기도를 통해서 점차 하나님의 권세(God's power)를 나누어 받게 됩니다.
신자는 "이것은 참으로 신나는 일입니다. 정말 그렇습니다."라고 고백할 수 있다.

하나님의 권세를 나누어 받는다면 신자는 나가서 기적을 행할 수 있기 때문이다.

2-1. Glory is unlocked, power is now unlocked, and believers can create miracles,

Through prayer, we gradually receive a share of God's power. The believer can confess, "This is exciting. It is truly so."

The believer is able to go out and perform miracles because he has been given a share of God's authority.
(Gregory) "Miracles like forgiving your neighbor and giving away your possessions to the poor, because doing those things is how God's authority works, and when God's authority is poured out on us, our prayers are naturally directed toward doing those things."

3. 기도는 화해를 이루는 삶을 신자가 살도록 한다.

Prayer enables the believer to live a life of reconciliation.

3-1. 아버지의 권세를 갖고, 행하는 기적중의 기적!을 행하게 하소서.

-“우리가 우리에게 죄 지은 자를 사하여 준 것 같이 우리 죄를 사하여 주시옵고”라는 구절,
'Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.'
- 문자적 의미로 더 정확히 말하면 “우리가 우리에게 죄 지은 자를 이미 사하여 준 것 같이” '라는 구절이 주님의 기도에서 가장 감격적인부분이라고 주장한 최초의 저술가이다.
3-1. Having the authority of the Father, to perform miracles of miracles!
'Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.'
- He is the first writer to claim that the most moving part of the Lord's Prayer is the phrase, “as we forgive those who sin against us," which is more literally translated, "as we have forgiven those who sin against us.

3-2. 하나님께 “저의 죄를 용서해 주십시오. 보시다시피, 제가 저에게 죄 지은 사람을 용서했습니다!”라고 말하는 것은 매우 주제넘은 일이 분명합니다. - 라고 그레고리는 말한다.

3-3. But Gregory is very bold in describing God's response.
"When you want to teach your children something.
- at first you say, 'Here, watch how your father (mother) does it,' but later you say, 'Now will you try it, show your father (mother) what you are doing.

3-4. 하나님께서도 우리에게 그렇게 하십니다.

하나님께서 먼저 용서하시고 뒤로 물러나 “이제 네가 내게 보여주겠느냐?” 하고 말씀하신다.
그레고리우스에 따르면, 이 말의 의미는 우리가 하나님을 본받는 자로 부름받았다는 것을 넘어서서 하나님도 우리를 본받는 분이 되시라고 요청하는 것이다.
- Gregory says that it is not simply that we are called to be immitators of God: God is asked to be an imitator of us.
"저를 용서해 주세요. 저는 이미 용서했습니다.”
3-4. God does the same with us.
God forgives first, then steps back and says, "Now will you show me?"
According to Gregory, the meaning of these words goes beyond the fact that we are called to be imitators of God; we are also asking God to be an imitator of us.
- Gregory says that it is not simply that we are called to be imitators of God: God is asked to be an imitator of us.
"Forgive me, I have forgiven."

3.5 신자의 자유함 / the freedom God gives us

그레고리우스는 이것이 기도에서 가장 어려우면서도 가장 중요한 것이라고 힘주어 말합니다. 그것은 우리가 하나님께서 주시는 자유로 무엇을 해야 하는지 분명하게 보여주기 때문입니다.

3.5 Gregory emphasizes that this is the most difficult and most important thing in prayer, because it shows us clearly what we are to do with the freedom God gives us.
