How to read 1 Timothy

While a solo performance can be amazing, there’s a unique richness expressed by a symphony of many artists and instruments flowing together under a master conductor. Each of us has an instrument to play. Together in the church we create an incredible expression of who God is when we play in harmony with one another! What you’re about to read is like a conductor’s handbook. It summarizes guidelines for running a church, offering practical help to believers in their relationships with each other, with church leaders, and with the world around them.

사도 바울이 로마의 감옥에서 풀려난 직후, 아마도 서기 63~65년경에 썼을 것입니다.

Who wrote this book and when?
Paul, the apostle, wrote it sometime shortly after he was released from imprisonment in Rome, probably around ad 63–65.

To whom was it written and why?

Paul wrote to Timothy with advice on how to guide the church at Ephesus. False teachers threatened to undermine Paul’s work there, and Timothy, one of Paul’s dear friends, was in a tough situation where he needed personal encouragement and advice on how to guide the church.

C-2. “소리내어 크게 읽는다 (듣는다)”

1. 그룹을 정한다. 4~6명씩 자연스럽게 그룹을 정하고, 인도자를 세운다 (영어그룹, 한글그룹) 적당한 곳으로 이동한다.

2. 성경 읽기: 다 함께 읽거나, 순서를 정하여 돌아가며 맡은 부분(장 이나 소제목 구간)을 크게 소리내어 읽는다.

3. 읽기 그룹: 디모데전서는 6장으로 되어 있기 때문에 6씩 그룹을 만든다.

한 사람이 1장씩 크게 읽고, 나머지 분들은 눈으로 따라 읽으며 경청한다.

4. 표준새번역 성경이나 Bible 앱을 사용하여 읽는다 (디모데전서(한글, 표준새번역))

C-2. "Read aloud (listen)"

1. Choose a group and have a leader (4-6 people / English group, Korean group). Move to the appropriate place.
2. Read the Bible: Read the Bible together or take turns to read their parts(Chapter or Subheading section) out loud.
3. For reading 1 Timothy: Since there are six chapters in 1 Timothy, form groups of six.

One person reads each chapter out loud, while the rest of the group listens with their eyes following along.

4. Read the Bible: Use the Bible app ( 1 Timothy (English, NLT) )

C-3. 질문을 가지고 소감을 적는다” [3분 정도]

각자 오늘 읽은 성경에 대하여 “기본 질문”을 사용하거나 자신의 “질문”을 만들고(Source View Reader의 아래쪽에 있는 질문중에 한 가지를 정함), 질문에 대한 자신의 생각과 소감을 적는다.
"Use Questions" ("Ask questions and write down your impressions")

Each person will use the "Basic Questions" or create their own "Questions" about today's Scripture reading (choose one of the questions at the bottom of the Source View Reader) and write down their thoughts and impressions about the question. [Time : about 3 minutes]

전체 회중 앞에서 나누기: 예배당에 모두 모여서, 그룹별로 한 사람씩 나눈다

Share in front of the whole congregation: All gathered in the chapel. One person from each group shares.
